Ludlow and Canal St
Met Brigitte on Orchard Street while she visited The Lower East Side. I was working on the Wallfish painting of the Adler building. She came from England and was a buyer and agent for textile designs. I did the eighth painting for her (Orchard Street). She later ordered this one. We both loved the same spots and we wandered all day before we found this one.
We became close friends and when she came from England she would sit with me while I worked. We would eat at the Garden cafeteria. We continued the friendship for years after the painting was finished- then a friend of hers wrote that she died. Her friend took one painting but does not know about the other one.
